Russell called unexpected success in difficult qualifications. The Mercedes pilot George Russell said that he was thinking about the second place following the qualification of the Chinese Grand Prix. The Briton lost to the racer of McLaren Oscar Piasta and ahead of his partner Lando Norris.

George also talked about expectations from the race:
